It's Been a FUN Summer!!!!

To catch you up, here's just a little bit of what all we've done this Summer.....

We hosted Cheryl's college graduation party - Noah had a better time playing with Bob than he did celebrating. ;)

Went to the 4th of July parade in Monument with friends. Spent time at a pool up in Parker Colorado with friends.
Had LOTS of date nights. Awwwww..... =)
Jen went on many shopping and dinner dates with her girlfriends.
Noah played with friends at numerous playdates.
We went for lots of walks and spent time at the park near our home.
Noah's been using his potty chair more and more. It's rare for him to have an accident these days. Yay! =)
Going on fun driving adventures. "Road trip, road trip!"
Playing with Mommy. =)
Had a playdate or two at Focus on the Family.
Started an almost nightly tradition of playing in/at Monument Lake.
Enjoying his new water table.
Went to Ikea on opening day!
Trying out the new "Pinkberry" that just opened up.
Gobbling down popsicles on a hot day. =)
Went for wagon rides at Mimi's house.
Greg's birthday surprise - brunch at the Broadmoor!
Looooooooooong naps........ (still 3-4 hours long!)
Ice cream at the Rockhouse - our new weekly favorite.
Greg and Brian spent some quality time together - Greg's first time hunting. =)
Glow golfing at a friend's birthday party!
Had a little birthday party for Greg - friends, family, cake, presents, fun!
Went to the El Paso County Fair - loved funnel cakes and walking around......
..... loved petting the animals and had a blast playing in the corn.
We save all our old bread and often go feed the ducks at the lake. Noah gets a kick out of it!
Playing in the fountain at America the Beautiful park downtown.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our new home and city. We've had LOTS of friends over now that we have more space to entertain and have even become great friends with our neighbors across the street (who happen to be our age - yay!).

We've done so much (more than what we listed above) and still have things on our list that we didn't get do to! It's been one of the busiest Summers of our life - but it's also been one of the most fun and best (and fastest!) Summers of our life too.

With a fun Summer like this, why would Fall even need to come? ;)

Fun Fast Visit

Our week started off great this week - Erynn, Susan and Nathan came up from Albuquerque to visit us for a few days!!! Believe it or not, we had NO cameras for pictures and captured a few only on our iPhones. Of course it was of our boys. ;)

Jen and Erynn even got to sneak away for a few hours one night for a "Mommy date" and have some much needed time together catching up. =)

Noah had fun melting Susan's heart - He'd yell: "Gammy!!!!!!" "GAMMY!!!!!!" =)

He even liked getting Nathan's attention - He'd say: "Nay-tin!!!!!!"

We had a blast! We usually do. =)
Our time together went WAY too fast. It usually does. =(

A Race and A Haircut

It only seemed fitting that we do the Race for the Cure this year, seeing as how Jen fights for the cure every day she's at work. =)

We had a blast! And it was even better that we got to do it right in beautiful Garden of the Gods park! It was such a beautiful morning - a great day for a walk in the park.

So about this haircut thing..... we cut Noah's hair this weekend too. =( He didn't seem to mind AT all. Didn't even show the slightest inkling of anxiety. We gave him a sucker to keep his mind off of things, but he didn't need it. He was content to watch Daddy, play with the comb and watch Mommy take pictures. We saved as many curls as we could, as well as all of the trimmings of his first haircut for his baby book. He looks like a little boy now..... =(

Never a Dull Moment.....

This past Friday, we came home (Greg from work, Jen from a friend's house - fairly far from home) to a pretty large wildfire burning on the mountain behind our house. Kinda scary at first, not knowing whether we would have to evacuate or not - AND because we could see the red hot flames from our bedroom window.....
We are OK. Our house is OK. No evactuation for us. Although it would have made for a more interesting story. ;)

We also have a mountain lion and a black bear roaming around our area too. The mountain lion eating people's livestock and the bear wandering around exploring.

Just another day in Monument. =) We love it here. =)

(Lucky) Seven Years!

Remember this trip we went on over 2 years ago? Remember how we DIDN'T get to go to South Dakota because of the weather? Well, for our anniversary this year, we decided to do something totally different and closer to home - and make this trip finally happen!!! =)

We spent 3 days there and had THE best time!!!!

We stopped for breakfast in Denver on the way. Had some awesome crepes!!!

Here's where we stayed. Our little cabin in the woods. Nice and rustic on the outside, recently upgraded to the max on the inside! Our campfire area. We spent much time here. =)
Saw the Crazy Horse Memorial. Mt. Rushmore!

Stopped for a picnic in crappy little Sturgis. However, we were there for the rally, so that was kinda neat to see all the motorcycles. Went through Wind Cave National Park. Saw some Bison. Also saw some Big Horn Sheep, Wild Turkeys, Does and Fawns, Pronghorn and a lot of prarie dogs.
During the trip, we got updates and pics of Noah. We'd ask: "How's he doing?" Looks like he was getting spoiled by Mimi, Auntie Cheryl and Uncle Bob this day..... =) Another day: "How's he doing?" Looks like he hardly even missed us..... =)
