Time with Noah is screaming by these days. No matter how hard we try to soak up each and every
second with him, it still seems like he's growing up
way too fast. Eight months. We still shake our heads at that. He has changed so much the last eight months, and even more so as the days go by. Good thing the camera, the video camera, and our BlackBerry's are always close at hand so we can capture every moment of our lovely little person. And believe us, we take TONS of pictures. It's always hard to pick which ones to post on here!
His little personality shows more and more with each passing day. It is absolutely adorable! If he doesn't like something, oh boy do you know it! If he wants something, he'll let you know with actions or chatter. He chatters quite frequently - he actually goes through phases where he's really quiet (which we think that means he's learning new things), and then really chatty (which we think he's trying to tell us ALL about what he's learned). Lately he's been doing this funny type of talking where he talks, borderline shouts, at the top of his lungs. He probably keeps doing it because we laugh at him. ;) He has a couple of new faces that we think are absolutely adorable. One of Jen's friends said "those faces were the most favorite thing she'd ever seen any baby do" - and she has kids of her own! =)
He is now a master crawler (sometimes he doesn't get going somewhere fast enough to his liking, and will use his left foot and his right knee to get somewhere - hilarious!), a master sitter (oh, don't lay him down like a baby!), a master puller-upper (he just pops right up - it's unbelievable!), and a master stander (with the aid of something of course - however, he's now only holding on with one hand and letting go to try to stand with no help for about 3-5 seconds!) =) When he stands and holds onto things, he'll walk along the length of it - like the couch or the entertainment center. We put the coffee table away for now. It made more room to play, and we don't have to worry about those sharp corners getting him anymore. He also has a new found love for strings, cords, ties, etc of any kind. We think for his birthday we'll just buy him a bunch of rope. ;)
We think it's SO cute..... he follows us around wherever we go in the house. Just like a puppy. =) He loves to be with us, whether we're playing with him or not. And when we go in to get him in the mornings, he just smiles and laughs and gets totally beside himself with excitement. What a perfect way to start the day, huh? =) He's also been sleeping longer and sleeping in later in the mornings - such a BIG blessing!! Naps are still about 3 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon. That's another big blessing for sure!
We're so amazed at how much money we save every month by making his baby food! It's amazingly simple, quite fun, it's by FAR the healthier way to feed your baby - pure, natural, no additives, no weird ingredients, you know
exactly what you're putting into your baby's body, and he LOVES it!! Call us crazy and psycho, but we go to great lengths to make sure he gets the very best. We've never read so many labels and done so much research on food/drink in our life! He probably won't be eating all baby food for TOO much longer though, since he's already eating a lot of what we eat. His new favorite food? McDonald's fries and sweet tea. (He IS his Mommy's son!!!) His favorite thing to do lately is to chomp down on his baby spoon and not let it go when we give him a bite of food. He thinks he's SO funny, and of course we think it's kinda cute too. =) His baby food must be helping him to grow up big and strong, because he's already ready for a carseat instead of his baby carrier! Guess we'll be shopping here within a few days to get one. :/ (Thank you everyone for your recommendations on carseats! It's helped us narrow our search down MUCH better!)
He blends in with our family and our friends with such ease. People just can't keep their hands off of him - not that we mind at all! ;) He's adapted very well to our lifestyle and to our friends and family's personality. We get comments literally
everywhere we go,
everytime we go somewhere about what a cute baby we have. Every Sunday, (yes,
every) either friends or people we don't know at church come up to us and tell us what an adorable baby we have. (Last Sunday he got called "gorgeous" and "a dream.") We can't help but wonder if other parents get comments like that on their babies as often as we do. We also get told that he is "such a good baby - he seems so laid back and happy!" People keep asking when they can keep him/watch him sometime......you can when he's 10. =) He enjoys the new playgroup that we've been attending, and various other play dates that we've had with friends. He's quite social. Loves other kids. Loves people. (He IS his Daddy's son!!!)
