"Papa Quilt"

(By Jen)

So I finally got it done.... actually, I finally got MINE done!

I painstakingly (both emotionally and physically) cut up all of my Papa's shirts into squares late last year, found some super soft and snuggly material for the backing, and had my friend at work use her quilting machine to put it all together for me. Little did I know that I would be able to make TWO large quilts out of everything! (A great surprise after all that torture!) So.... back in December, we got this quilt's non-identical twin done and I surprised my Gran at Christmas with it. (Bring on the tears!)

After the holiday and new year craziness was over, life settled back down and I am finally able to have my own quilt.

I love it.

Letters

Dear Noah,
As long as we live, we are your parents 1st and your friend 2nd. We will stalk you, flip out on you, lecture you, drive you insane, be your worst nightmare and hunt you down like a bloodhound when needed because WE LOVE YOU! When you understand that, we know you will are a responsible adult. You will NEVER find someone who loves, prays, cares and worries about you more than we do! If you don't hate us at least once in your life, we aren't doing our jobs properly. ;)

Love always,
Daddy and Mommy

----------------------------------------------------------

Dear Daddy and Mommy,
I really am your gift. I am not just a little person who needs to be "raised," taught, and taken to activities. I came to the people in my life to bring a message: slow down. Feel. Be. Over and over again. When you do, you will notice immediately that I am not an obstacle to your work, or inconvenient to your daily life. Instead, you will come to appreciate my honesty, humor, presence and love.

Love,
Noah
