$2 Tuesday

We went to a Sky Sox game tonight!! They played against the Omaha Royals.... and the Sky Sox beat the Royals, so that made it even more fun!!

Sox the Fox and Dinger the Dino messing around in between the innings was quite entertaining.

Greg brought a big bag of peanuts to the game, and the Sky Sox staff made him throw them away because "no outside food was allowed in the park." (punks!) So Dad Kelly bought some peanuts for them to share. (Jen had to have her obligatory ball park hot dog instead.)

7th inning stretch........ messing around with the camera. We were getting tired and silly.

Whitewater Rafting

We made it!! No fatalities or catastrophies; just some big smiles, great laughs and some partial sunburns. Our raft trip down the Arkansas river was SO awesome, and our rafting guide, Ben, did such a great job of showing us a fun time. It was a beautiful day in Colorado yesterday - quite perfect for such an occasion.

Fast week

(By Jen)

This week seems to have gone by faster than most weeks. "That's weird...." =) It began on Sunday afternoon/evening with Greg and Brian "embarassing" the family at the new Wal-Mart in Falcon by "floor skiing." (One pulling the other across the slippery floor...."Hey Mom, watch this!!") But did they let me get a picture?? No... Then Monday night Greg had his softball game on the co-ed team and he actually didn't get hurt this time!! But they lost their game, so that was a bummer. Tuesday morning Greg and I went to Starbucks before work and saw Katy in action. I got a special message that made my morning on my cup, but Greg didn't. (see picture below) Wednesday afternoon, I went home early because I didn't feel good, Greg had people come over to estimate for a sprinkler system and landscaping at lunch time, and later that night, I went to dinner and shopping with a good friend while Greg went to class. (I can't work the rest of the day, but I sure can go out and have fun, I know, I know) =) Thursday night, Greg had his competitive team softball game, and they pretty much trounced the other team - by 15!!! It was an awesome game. We got rained on, but that's OK. (It's fun to sit under the umbrella with your sister, huh Brian?? "You may not see!!") Today, well, I am at work....... It's fun, but I got all my work done already and it's only 10:17. It's gonna be a long day. Tonight, we are making measurements for landscaping and sprinkler installation - we will be doing it ourselves we found out. We'll also probably go for a walk, play tennis, watch a movie, etc. Tomorrow, we will sleep in and then work on getting more of the backyard done. Slowly but surely. "Slow and steady wins the race" as my great-grandma used to say.

New "pet"

We really didn't get as much done as we needed to today. We were too hot and tired, so we decided to relax and enjoy our Saturday together doing other things.
Tonight, when it got cooler (and we had a bit more energy and motivation), we were outside weeding our driveway and doing some yard work, when Jen had a teeny tiny little frog almost jump on her!! So Greg caught it in a tennis ball container, and we were going to pass it along to Brian tomorrow, but "he didn't want it." So we let it go before we went to bed.

Starbucks

Both of us had "dates" tonight, except they weren't with each other. =( However, both of our "dates" WERE at Starbucks, but at two different Starbucks in town. Jen got together and got caught up with a very good long lost friend of hers, and the time spent together was like a gift from Heaven - an answer to many many prayers in fact. Greg got together with a good friend of his, but they talked about investing and stocks and other such financial stuff. We both didn't get home until quite late, but the time spent apart was well worth it. (Ugh, we have to go to work tomorrow??!!)

Kids Camp

This weekend we spent our time up at Kids Camp in Woodland Park, Colorado. We cooked hot dogs and roasted marshmallows over the campfire, we played games with the kids, and spent the night in Mom and Dad Kelly's room (in the obligatory bunk bed - because THEY claimed the queen sized bed - sheesh!!). A good time was had by all.
Last year at Kids Camp, Brian almost ripped his finger off (notice the 1st blurry picture - the dark lines are stitches), so this year at Kids Camp, Greg wanted to be so much like Brian that he too cut his finger with Brian's new knife. But Greg's didn't require stitches.

We'll be going back again next year. Hopefully for more than just an overnight trip and hopefully with a few less injuries. Below are a few pictures of our weekend.

America the Beautiful

We celebrated the 4th with Dad and Mom Kelly yesterday!! (Brian ditched us to go to work..... we guess some people DO have to work on holidays if they want to make money..... sorry Boo!!) We went to breakfast, went for a drive down through Canon City and all along the Arkansas river, stopped for a picnic along the river, drove through Salida, and then stopped in Woodland Park for a "treat." We spent the rest of the evening hanging out at their house taking a walk, playing with the dogs, and watching the fireworks in their hot tub. We could see the whole front range from there, so we got to see all the fireworks shows in town. It was a great day, and we had such a good time!! We usually do though, they are fun to be with. ;)

Summertime

This weekend was REALLY hot in Colorado. Perfect time to landscape, right? Well, we tried to start our landscaping in the backyard, but we didn't get as far as we had hoped. The ground was very hard, the sun was very hot, and we only had the roto-tiller for 4 hours. SO...... this project will take awhile. But eventually we will have a beautiful backyard!

We went to the "America the Beautiful Park" in downtown Colorado Springs and had a picnic today. We spent a little over an hour there until Jen had a pretty big spider crawl on her, so we figured it was time to leave. We tried to go golfing today, but everyone else in Colorado Springs had the same idea. It was a gorgeous day out!
