"Papa Quilt"

(By Jen)

So I finally got it done.... actually, I finally got MINE done!

I painstakingly (both emotionally and physically) cut up all of my Papa's shirts into squares late last year, found some super soft and snuggly material for the backing, and had my friend at work use her quilting machine to put it all together for me. Little did I know that I would be able to make TWO large quilts out of everything! (A great surprise after all that torture!) So.... back in December, we got this quilt's non-identical twin done and I surprised my Gran at Christmas with it. (Bring on the tears!)

After the holiday and new year craziness was over, life settled back down and I am finally able to have my own quilt.

I love it.

I remember my dad wearing each of those shirts... What a wonderful way to keep him close - and to keep snuggling with him.
